This is a picture of my neck pillow .... My wonderful neck pillow that I'm going to give it some serious loving to for the next 7 hours. I'm bushed.

13 hours On the National Mall and it was cold. But no complaints ... At all!

I've been to Yosemite and Yellowstone and I thought that nothing would ever move me as those national treasures did but today ranked right up there with them. Seeing that sea of people strectching out before me...peaceful...happy. Truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Take care all and I hope you enjoyed the blog.

Jack

Haute Couture Inauguration style. Man it's cold out here. Mental note to self. These high tech pants I bought for this trip aren't worth a darn if the fly is left down for two hours. Talk about heat loss.

In her speech , Diane Feinstein said that the whole world is watching. By the dialects, banners and flags that i've seen today it's very evident. Not to mention poarticipants from every state in the union.

Is that democracy i smell in the air? Or is it the hundreds of food vendors surrounding the National Mall? Southern bbq, hebrew hots, sushi and florida corn on the cob. We are the melting pot of the world . Cook pot.

2:30 arrived! Hundreds of National Guardsmen, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and other assorted volunteers waiting at RFK to assist parking the busses and get us on to shuttles. Problem! Callaway, the vendor running the parking has instructed that the parking gates are not to be opened until 4AM. Our first taste of Washington beauracracy. A thousand busses idling in the side streets.

No picture attached. 1:30AM and 25 miles to go. We just passed a fleet of 75 Americam Medical Company ambulances. It gives one the sense of the enormity of this event. The highway traffic is starting to build with other buses. Our bus has 2 drivers and 1 attendant. They must be getting reports from up ahead because they hustle us up at each rest stop and tell us it's imperative that we arrive ASAP.

No picture, just a few thoughts. It's 10:30 and we made a pit stop @ Wendy's. I was too full to eat, partly because of the generosity of my bus mates. Someone bought a huge party tray and walked the aisle of the bus until it was gone. What a nice gesture. The whole vibe of the bus is awesome. Every one is sharing what ever they have. My seat mate, Lynette, is an event planner and packed liked one. I don't know what's greater, the amount of things she brought or her generosity.

Had to kll the flash due to glare compounded by a lot of vibration on a bouncy bus. This pic of my GPS leaves much to be desired. it was meant to capture the ETA for RFK stadium where we will be parking the buses. The ETA is 1:05 AM which Would make it a 7 hour trip given our 6PM departure. I wonder if the GPS factors in the fact that 10000 buses will be converging on the same place at once? Doubt it.
